When the terms end at 12,000 miles a year

Example only. At 12,000 miles a year, a round national-average figure used here for illustration, the 4 years or 60,000 miles term ends on the calendar first, at the 4-year mark, with about 48,000 miles on the odometer and 12,000 miles of the limit unused.

On the same assumption, the 6 years or 70,000 miles term ends on miles first, after about 5 years and 10 months, well before the 6-year calendar limit.

Your own odometer and the in-service date tied to your VIN replace both numbers. Drive more and the miles limit arrives sooner; drive less and the calendar does.

What a service contract adds, and what it does not

When the 4 years or 60,000 miles basic term closes, the narrower powertrain term keeps running to 6 years or 70,000 miles. After both have closed, no INFINITI factory term in this table applies.

A vehicle service contract is a separate purchase that pays for the repairs it lists, on its own terms, in whatever stretch it covers. It does not extend the INFINITI warranty and is not issued by INFINITI unless the contract says so. Service contracts are not warranties and not insurance; the contract you receive governs, including its waiting period, deductible, exclusions and cancellation terms.
