When the terms end at 12,000 miles a year

Example only. At 12,000 miles a year, a round national-average figure used here for illustration, the 4 years or 50,000 miles term ends on the calendar first, at the 4-year mark, with about 48,000 miles on the odometer and 2,000 miles of the limit unused.

Your own odometer and the in-service date tied to your VIN replace both numbers. Drive more and the miles limit arrives sooner; drive less and the calendar does.

What a service contract adds, and what it does not

MINI prints the same limit for both terms, so the broad and the powertrain terms close on the same day. After that, no MINI factory term in this table applies.

A vehicle service contract is a separate purchase that pays for the repairs it lists, on its own terms, in whatever stretch it covers. It does not extend the MINI warranty and is not issued by MINI unless the contract says so. Service contracts are not warranties and not insurance; the contract you receive governs, including its waiting period, deductible, exclusions and cancellation terms.
