Confirm against your VIN. The clock starts at first sale. Terms vary by model year, trim and market.

The source table limits the 10-year powertrain term to the original owner. A later owner should read the Mitsubishi warranty booklet for the term that applies after a sale.

When the terms end at 12,000 miles a year

Example only. At 12,000 miles a year, a round national-average figure used here for illustration, the 5 years or 60,000 miles term reaches both limits together, at the 5-year mark with about 60,000 miles on the odometer.

On the same assumption, the 10 years or 100,000 miles term ends on miles first, after about 8 years and 4 months, well before the 10-year calendar limit.

Your own odometer and the in-service date tied to your VIN replace both numbers. Drive more and the miles limit arrives sooner; drive less and the calendar does.

What a service contract adds, and what it does not

When the 5 years or 60,000 miles basic term closes, the narrower powertrain term keeps running to 10 years or 100,000 miles. After both have closed, no Mitsubishi factory term in this table applies.

A vehicle service contract is a separate purchase that pays for the repairs it lists, on its own terms, in whatever stretch it covers. It does not extend the Mitsubishi warranty and is not issued by Mitsubishi unless the contract says so. Service contracts are not warranties and not insurance; the contract you receive governs, including its waiting period, deductible, exclusions and cancellation terms.
